![]() ![]() Think of a prison guard, if they don’t really believe they have authority over the inmates they are going to get walked all over or worse. The first thing required to walk in authority is faith, you have to believe you have it in order to use it. This authority is for the sole purpose of helping others come to the gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus and glorifying the name of God before man.Įvery Christian receives it at salvation through the blood of Jesus but many do not understand how to use it. The greatest gift the blood of Jesus grants us is eternal life, there’s no denying that, however it also grants us authority over the powers of the enemy. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” – Luke 10:19-20 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Ask yourself, are you walking in the fullness of the authority that has been granted you by the sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ? You should be, not for your glory, but for His. The other reason is because many really don’t understand spiritual authority, they don’t know what they have or why they have it so they are bluffed an bullied into not using it. This is a lie straight from satan meant to steal your salvation and thus, your authority against him. One because he has caused so many to believe the lie that you can live in willful sin and still be saved. He is able to do this mainly for two reasons. Satan is a bully and a lier, he convinces many Christians today that he is stronger then he really is and that they lack the power or ability to overcome him. Sadly, though Christ paid a very high price to purchase this great gift of immense authority for us over the enemy, most are simply not using it and are allowing the devil free reign in their lives and in the lives of others. “And these signs shall follow them that believe In my name shall they cast out devils they shall speak with new tongues They shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” – Mark 16:17-18 These were some of Jesus’s last Words of instruction to His followers on earth before He ascended to heaven, pointing to their importance and relevance. We are commanded to go forth and fulfill the great commission which in Mark 16 includes the casting out of devils, healing of the sick, setting the captive free, and all manner of miraculous and powerful works that require the use of ones spiritual authority. ![]() ![]() Understanding spiritual authority is critical for the true Christian. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. ![]()
